1001 Movies You Should See Before You Die - this is a list from a popular book put together by a team of well-respected film critics. It includes a large variety of films from all genres and encompasses the history of filmmaking from 1902 to the present day.
They Shoot Pictures, Don't They? - this is probably an even more comprehensive list, and is less biased. It's the result of collecting data related to the most well-respected 'Greatest Film' lists from all over the world, and is calculated based on results rather than a pick-and-choose method.
Best Film Academy Award Winners - this is a list of all the Best Film winners since the Oscars started.
